Who is Lester Timothy?
I am originally from Port Elizabeth. I relocated to Cape Town in 2006, about a year after being admitted as an attorney. My passion is to upskill younger attorneys, empowering them to unlock their true potential in practice and business in general. I believe that the best service a lawyer can give to his or her client is, firstly, to understand the clients’ business to the fullest extent possible, to know what keeps them awake at night, and secondly, to apply the law to their business with technical precision and diligence. Ranking above the law, family comes first in my books!
As an attorney
I believe that each and every client is the most important client! I don’t believe in landing one instruction after the other but rather to create and cement longstanding relationships with my clients and to integrate into their business, being a “cog in their machine”. I strive for excellence and demand the same excellence of my team. Through hard work and perseverance, you will achieve excellence and, in turn, success in abundance.
I initially practiced as a commercial litigation attorney for a number of years and subsequently moved into corporate commercial law. I have been fortunate to have practiced in top tier law firms for many years and gaining invaluable experience in large local, international and cross-border corporate transactions, in multiple industries. I have also been fortunate to have worked alongside and learnt valuable techniques from leading legal minds in the legal fraternity, which has contributed largely to the lawyer and businessman I am today.
The people at Adriaans Attorneys are what sets us apart from other law firms. Integrity and quality are values which are entrenched deep within the heart of the firm and is the life-blood of each individual in the firm. Adriaans Attorneys is a family, that’s why I am here!
